NY Review of SF Readings
29th Season
presents
Gregory Feeley
Michael Swanwick

Tuesday, September 3rd  ||  7:00 PM
The Brooklyn Commons
(address, map, and links below)

As befitting a proper premiere, we begin our 29th season in style with two brilliant writers!

Greg FeeleyGregory Feeley writes novels and stories, most in some respect science-fictional.  His first novel, The Oxygen Barons, was nominated for the Philip K. Dick award, and his short fiction has twice been nominated for the Nebula Award.  His most recent novels are the historical novel Arabian Wineand Kentauros, a fantasia on an obscure Greek myth.  He recently completed a long novel, Hamlet the Magician.

Michael Swanwick photo by Mike Van HelderMichael Swanwick writes fantasy and science fiction of all sorts, at lengths ranging from novels to flash fiction.  Over the years, he's picked up a Nebula Award, five Hugos and the World Fantasy Award--and has the pleasant distinction of having lost more of these awards than any other writer.  Tor recently published The Iron Dragon's Mother, completing a trilogy begun with The Iron Dragon's Daughter twenty-five years ago.  That's far longer than it took Professor Tolkien to complete his trilogy.

The New York Review of Science Fiction Reading Series provides performances from some of the best writers in science fiction, fantasy, speculative fiction, etc.  The series usually takes place the first Tuesday of every month, but maintains flexibility in time and space, so be sure to stay in touch through the mailing list, the Web, and Facebook.

The Cafe has excellent food, a coffee bar, beer and wine.  The Jenna freebie table will offer books and goodies, as will the raffle for any who donate.

When attending our events, please use only common scents. Preferably NO perfumes or colognes!  We like the smell of people, and we have at least one staff member who is truly allergic and was bedridden for the better part of three weeks after an event. Thank you for understanding.
