We generally prefer to take a break in the summer months, but for the second year in a row we have so many wonderful folk to present that we are having our second "official" Summer Season. Guest Curator (and Curator Emeritus) Amy Goldschlager has put together an exciting evening with two writers who will start fireworks a day earlier than anticipated.
Seth Dickinson is the author of The Traitor Baru Cormorant and its forthcoming sequel The Monster Baru Cormorant. He has studied racial bias in police shootings, wrote much of the lore for Bungie Studios' Destiny, and helped write and design the open-source space opera Blue Planet. If he were an animal, he would be a cockatoo.
David Mack is the award-winning and New York Times bestselling author of more than thirty novels of science fiction, fantasy, and adventure, including the Star Trek Destiny and Cold Equations trilogies. His writing credits span several media, including television (for episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), film, short fiction, and comic books. He resides in New York City.
Amy Goldschlager is an editor, proofreader, and book/audiobook reviewer who has worked for several major publishers. She is a former curator of the New York Review of Science Fiction Readings. She writes a quarterly audiobook column for Locus and reviews for Kirkus; she has also contributed to the Los Angeles Review of Books, Publishers Weekly, AudioFile Magazine, and ComicMix. She lives in Brooklyn and exists virtually at amygoldschlager.com.
The New York Review of Science Fiction Reading Series provides performances from some of the best writers in science fiction, fantasy, speculative fiction, etc. The series usually takes place the first Tuesday of every month, but maintains flexibility in time and space, so be sure to stay in touch through the mailing list, the Web, and Facebook.
The Cafe has excellent food, a coffee bar, beer and wine. The Jenna freebie table will offer books and goodies, as will the raffle for any who donate.
When attending our events, please use only common scents. Preferably NO perfumes or colognes! We like the smell of people, and we have at least one staff member who is truly allergic and was bedridden for the better part of three weeks after an event. Thank you for understanding.

Jim Freund is Producer and Executive Curator of The New York Review of Science Fiction Readings. He has been involved in producing radio programs of and about literary sf/f since 1967.
