Two favorites: one established and the other rising. Nora Jemisin has been with us any number of times, but never as Hugo Award-winning N. K. Jemisin. To say this is a thrill is an understatement. Our other reader is a rising star in the world of fantastic literature, and it is a pleasure to expand the pantheon of writers we have had the pleasure to host this past quarter-century.

His novelette, «Légendaire.», can be read in the anthology, Stories for Chip, which celebrates the legacy of science fiction grandmaster Samuel R. Delany. Kai Ashante Wilson lives in New York City.

N(ora). K. Jemisin is an author of speculative fiction short stories and novels who lives and writes in Brooklyn, NY. Her work has been nominated for the Hugo (three times), the Nebula (four times), and the World Fantasy Award (twice); shortlisted for the Crawford, the Gemmell Morningstar, and the Tiptree; and she has won a Locus Award for Best First Novel as well as the Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice Award (three times). In 2016 she won the Best Novel Hugo for The Fifth Season, becoming the first black writer to win the award in that category.  The second book in "The Broken Earth" trilogy, The Obelisk Gate, was just recently released.

Her short fiction has been published in pro markets such as Clarkesworld, Postscripts, Strange Horizons, and Baen’s Universe; semipro markets such as Ideomancer and Abyss & Apex; and podcast markets (mostly Escape Artists) and print anthologies. Her first seven novels, a novella, and a short story collection are out now from Orbit Books.

She is currently a member of the Altered Fluid writing group. In addition to writing, she has been a counseling psychologist and educator (specializing in career counseling and student development), a sometime hiker and biker, and a political/feminist/anti-racist blogger.
